Wild Roots Adventures was founded in 2021 in Golfito, Costa Rica, by local tourism professionals who share a deep connection with the forests, wildlife, and communities of the Golfo Dulce region.
The idea behind Wild Roots began with a simple vision: to create meaningful travel experiences that allow visitors to truly connect with nature while supporting local knowledge and conservation. After years of exploring the rainforests of southern Costa Rica, guiding visitors, and learning from the landscapes and communities of the region, the founders decided to create a project that reflects the true spirit of Golfo Dulce.
From the very beginning, Wild Roots Adventures has been guided by a commitment to authentic experiences, environmental responsibility, and local identity. Rather than offering traditional tours, the goal has always been to design experiences that reveal the hidden stories of the rainforest, its wildlife, and the people who live alongside it.
Starting as a small local initiative, Wild Roots continues to grow with the same philosophy that inspired its creation: sharing the natural and cultural richness of Golfo Dulce with travelers who seek meaningful and responsible adventures.
Today, Wild Roots Adventures welcomes visitors from around the world who want to discover one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth through experiences guided by people who truly know and love this place.

Fabián Umaña is an ecotourism professional from the Golfo Dulce region of Costa Rica and the founder of Wild Roots Adventures. Trained at the University of Costa Rica, he is deeply connected to the rainforests, wildlife, and communities of southern Costa Rica.
